Postgraduate: Tabish Raza's Experience at Â鶹Íø Business School.
Meet Tabish Raza, an MSc Business Analytics Graduate from Â鶹Íø Business School.
What made you choose the MSc Business Analytics Programme?
After spending over eight years in the Middle East as a Business Development Manager, working with renowned brands in Dubai and Qatar, I found myself at a crossroads. The world of business was evolving rapidly, driven by automation and data-driven decision-making. I knew that to stay ahead, I had to embrace this shift, even if it meant stepping away from a stable and well-established career.
With no technical background, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in the MSc Business Analytics program at Queen’s Business School. Transitioning into a new academic environment, adapting to a different culture, and navigating the challenges of a rigorous programme was undoubtedly daunting. There were moments of uncertainty, yet Queen’s Business School provided unwavering support. The exceptional faculty, management, and my brilliant peers played a pivotal role in my journey, making me feel welcome and encouraging me at every step.
What is your current job role ?
Through resilience, relentless hard work, and the unwavering support of my family and friends, I not only thrived academically—graduating with distinction—but also secured a role within the Business Consulting team at Ernst & Young LLP, Belfast. This achievement would not have been possible without the invaluable experience and guidance I received at Queen’s.
What else have you learned from you time at Â鶹Íø Business School?
Looking back, this journey has been more than just a pursuit of academic excellence—it has been a testament to the power of perseverance, the importance of stepping out of one's comfort zone, and the belief that challenges are stepping stones to growth. Leaving behind a settled life was not easy, but this experience has reinforced the idea that the only real competition we face is with ourselves.
