Dr Damien Bennett is a Consultant in Public Health medicine and Director of the Northern Ireland Cancer Registry (NICR). He has experience in cancer registration and epidemiology, cancer screening evaluation, patient‑reported outcomes and health inequalities. Dr Bennett has interdisciplinary experience spanning Public Health, medicine, cancer intelligence as well as previous experience in bio-engineering and orthopaedic biomechanics.
He oversees population-based cancer registration, cancer intelligence outputs, cross-border work and multi‑disciplinary and collaborative research programmes that seek to influence policy and service improvement, support early diagnosis and improve cancer outcomes across Northern Ireland and beyond. He has an interest in population-based cancer data analysis.
