Ever wondered about the relationship between gender and race in the struggle for freedom?

Join Dr Nik Ribianszky in her seminar about her book ‘Generations of Freedom: Gender, Movement and Violence in Natchez, 1779-1865’.

It tells the powerful stories of people who survived Spanish colonial rule, American acquisition and eventual statehood and finally to slavery’s legal demise in 1865. Dr Ribianszky argues that free blacks were vitally active in shaping their own freedom and for generations afterwards.

Wednesday 23 June, 4pm-5pm via MS Teams.

Register your interest via the link  by Tuesday 22 June, 5pm.
