Oscar Gonzales, MBA, PhD
Managing Partner

Dr. Oscar Gonzales is the founder of the Gonzales Group. He is recognized as one of the nation's top thought leaders in the housing and related industries. Oscar founded the Gonzales Group in 2003 providing Multicultural Markets business and strategic solutions to organizations in the real estate and financial services community who are developing or upgrading their Multicultural Markets programs.

Oscar is a nationally-known speaker & author on Multicultural Markets and their impact on real estate trends, affordable housing, consumer behavior, and business modeling and planning. His comments have been published in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, and The Kiplinger Letter, as well as in multiple business and real estate journals.

Prior to founding the Gonzales Group, Oscar developed his business credentials:
  • Spending over 15 years with REALTOR® associations in executive staff positions, and
  • As a senior tax and audit manager in public accounting firms.
He was named by REALTOR® Magazine as one of the 25 Most Influential People in Real Estate Nationwide and as an "Industry Icon" by Broker Agent Magazine.

Oscar has served on the Fannie Mae Southwest Regional Housing and Community Development Advisory Councils. He is a founding director of both the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) and the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA).

He has been active in several organizations including the American Diabetes Association as well as various college advisory boards, chambers of commerce and economic development councils.

Oscar has his BBA in Accounting from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, his MBA in International Business from the University of Phoenix, and his PhD in Business Administration from Washington University.

Daniel Carrillo
Managing Partner

Dan Carrillo's 27-year career in the real estate and housing industry is filled with a broad range of experiences and leadership roles that add great value to the Gonzales Group. In the residential brokerage community, Dan's experience with successful real estate firms as an executive, sales manager, trainer, business development expert and director of relocation and corporate services brings a unique mixture of talent and expertise to Gonzales Group clients. His leadership role in the industry is based on a firm foundation in organized real estate, as a long-term state director of the CAR and member of the NAR. His focus on strategic planning and issues related to affordable housing, bank foreclosures, emerging markets, e-commerce and work force mobility translate in his leadership roles as a founding board member of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, consultant to the Sacramento Home Loan Counseling Center, member of the World Wide Employee Relocation Council, member of Fannie Mae's Western Region REO Broker Advisor and member of the Lending Tree/Realestate.com Broker advisory council. His current role as member at large of the Wescom Credit Union board of directors, the 12th largest credit union in the US, is indicative of his broad knowledge and participation in the growing credit union market place. This broad-based background is matched with his passion and dedication to the Multicultural markets.

Born in East Los Angeles, Dan is a third-generation Californian and currently resides with his wife Chris in Pasadena. He enjoys singing as a tenor with a local community choir and is a gourmet cook and wine enthusiast.

Antonio Valdez
Managing Partner

Antonio Valdez brings a wealth of strategic planning and execution to the Gonzales Group. Antonio is an accomplished leader with proven results in targeting the Multicultural markets for the mortgage industry. Previously, Antonio led the responsibility for the development and implementation of Multicultural marketing strategies and tactics at Countrywide to increase loan production among the U.S. Multicultural homebuyer. He led cross-functional, multi-disciplined teams that included Brand Strategy, promotions, media, direct and event marketing and was also responsible for the development of Countrywide's Spanish-language website, minority recruitment strategies and public relations. Antonio's quantitative and qualitative research discipline has served to sharpen the U.S. Hispanic consumer segmentation for better prediction of homebuying purchasing behavior.

Prior to joining Countrywide, Valdez was Market Research Manager for La Opinión, the country's leading Spanish-language newspaper.

Antonio is a founding director of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), the nation's largest Hispanic real estate trade organization.

Antonio earned his B.S. in Marketing in 1990 from San Diego State University. He resides in Carlsbad with his wife and children. During his leisure time he enjoys running, racquetball and golf.
