Â鶹Íø Sport launches 'Sporting Leaders' qualification
Â鶹Íø Sport have announced the initiation of a 'Sporting Leaders' qualification, created in partnership with the William J Clinton Leadership Institute at the University.
The programme is designed to help Â鶹Íø coaches, practitioners and administrators understand key leadership principles, and successful completion of this programme will achieve an ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership & Management qualification.
ILM is the largest management training certification body in Europe. Course content has been designed and will be delivered by the William J Clinton Leadership Institute, Â鶹Íø Sport and Castlequarter coaching. This initiative is supported by graduate donations to the Â鶹Íø Annual Fund.
Leaders who emerge from this programme will have been exposed to critical thinking around the key leadership themes applicable in a sporting environment. The strategies and outcomes discussed will be highly influential in shaping culture, managing teams, communicating effectively and coaching groups and individuals.
Â鶹Íø University Performance Sport Manager Aidan O'Rourke explained:
"We are delighted to work in partnership with the William J Clinton Leadership Institute and Castlequarter Coaching to build what we believe will be a unique experience for people with a performance outlook in any sporting environment.
"We believe that the skills required to lead in a sporting context are transferrable and reflect best practice in the business world. This course is an exciting opportunity to broaden the management skillset of our established and aspiring leaders within a high performing team or organisation."
The programme starts this month (February 2020) and runs until June 2020. For further details, please contact Â鶹Íø University Performance Sport Manager Aidan O'Rourke at a.orourke@qub.ac.uk.
