Welcome to Leah Browne

Leah Browne - Placement student

Leah Browne 1600x747
Leah Browne

I started my BSc in Psychology here at Queen’s in September 2023. Most recently, I completed an internship at Queen’s Students’ Union with Mind Your Mood, the student-led mental health campaign at Queen’s. This involved organising and coordinating events in line with the Public Health Agency’s ‘Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing’ guidelines, as well as researching how to engage various student demographics in student wellbeing activities and support services.

I have recently started a professional placement as a research assistant within the Research Centre for Stress, Trauma, and Related Conditions under the supervision of Professor Cherie Armour and Dr Emanuele Fino. My research focuses primarily on eating disorders, specifically the effectiveness of peer-led interventions in reducing disordered eating behaviours and the risk of eating disorder onset within a university context.

In the future, I am keen to continue researching eating disorders, as well as other areas of mental health and stress.
