Education Fund Event: DRA1005 Festival Makers Panel
Supported by the Education Fund, QUB Drama was delighted to host three prominent members of the arts and culture community in Belfast to discuss the process of curating and producing theatre festivals in the city with students.Â
Ruth McCarthy from Outburst Arts, Neal Campbell from Eastside Arts and Eibhlín de Barra from Belfast Children’s Festival shared years of expertise in putting on cultural events, meeting new artists, and commissioning theatre and performance work.
First year drama students were given the opportunity to ask the panel questions and talk in depth about festival curation, as they go on to design their own theatre festivals as part of the degree.
