Online spaces are increasingly shaping how young people understand identity, belonging and political issues. In this In-Sight seminar, Dr Cathal McManus (Queen’s University Belfast) will explore how anti-immigration rhetoric circulating on social media can influence attitudes, identity formation and pathways towards radicalisation and serious youth violence.
The session will consider the ways online narratives travel across platforms, how they are interpreted by young people, and the implications for practitioners working in youth services, education and safeguarding.
In-Sight is a seminar series facilitated by the Centre for Evidence-Based Youth Services (CEBYS), connecting cutting-edge research with practitioners working across youth services.
