The Research Leadership and Skills Accelerator (RLSA) is a flexible extracurricular programme designed to foster students’ early awareness and competencies in research leadership, enhance their technical proficiency, and strengthen their readiness for research-intensive study and careers. Integrating leadership mindset development, practical software workshops, and online simulated lab exercises, the programme addresses key skill areas often underrepresented in curricular training. Its discipline-specific design focuses on tools and practices commonly used in pharmaceutical research, offering meaningful virtual lab experiences that complement limited physical lab opportunities. Through this holistic approach, participants develop Future-Ready capabilities for both academic and industry pathways while gaining accreditation through the Queen’s Future-Ready Award.
